Cooke Speed Panchros
There are few lenses as legendary as the Cooke Speed Panchros. The lens manufacturer’s look is so famous, it’s now a respected term in cinematography forums “The Cooke Look.” These lenses were immensely popular when first released back in the 1930s. Their popularity never waned, even as the film industry rapidly changed. Their beautiful bokeh and skin tones with their painterly image has kept them incredibly popular in commercials, music videos and narrative work. Because of this popularity Cooke began reproducing them in new lines called the Panchro Classic, but there’s something incredibly unique about the older, original models. This rare set is rehoused by TLS, so that the vintage optics are right at home with modern camera rigs and follow focuses. They all cover S35 sensors, and the 40mm and up covers FF sensors. It’s a privilege to be able to shoot a project on these beautiful, one of a kind lenses.
