NC Ports

North Carolina Ports serves one of the fastest growing regions in the country. They invest millions annually on improvements, upgrades and new capabilities to the Port of Wilmington. They were recently the most efficient port on the East Coast. This rapid growth and investment has been a huge boom to not only the local economy, but also to the entire state. With an efficient port nearby, cold chain, pharmaceutical and agricultural companies among others can be based in the Port City, Wilmington North Carolina. Wallaby has produced many videos in partnership with NC Ports for various promotional and B2B marketing efforts.

Unlocking Cold Value

Every year NC Ports hosts their Cold Chain Summit. The goal of this summit is to make sure that those companies and providers that move cold storage goods (agricultural products, pharamaceuticals, etc.) know the hard work and millions of dollars in investment the Port of Wilmington has put into upgrading their cold chain capacities.

This most recent year saw a substantial increase in NC Ports Cold Chain capabilities. This included huge growth for cold cargo on the port, along with a new truck gate and T4 facility (among other improvements). However, a big part of this story was the Ports off site partners. This included Lewis Farms, a state of the art cold storage facility a mile off the port, as well as the support of farmers and the agricultural and economic development arms of North Carolina.

To highlight all of this, NC Ports partnered with Wallaby to produce a promotional video showing the massive evolution the Port has gone through. The result is our video “Unlocking Cold Value.”

NC Ports Virtual Tour

NC Ports needed a video that could show potential business partners the capabilities of the Port of Wilmington without needing to physically visit. They had to show off all the site improvements, announcing themselves as a viable port option for big logistics companies. These were big ships moving thousands of containers via trucks, cranes and forklifts at all time of the day and night. The team accomplished this by going everywhere the containers do. We also made sure to use the right equipment for the job, utilizing drones, gimbals and wide angles lenses to capture the scale of the operation. This was an intense two day shoot.
